Jessica & Adrian – All Saints Hunters Hill – The Rocks – RACA

I started Jessica & Adrian’s wedding day with the boys at the Shangri-La Hotel and there were lots of laughs as they got ready. Jessica was nearby at the Observatory Hotel – an old period hotel and a great place to get ready with heavy draped curtains and beautiful mirrors.

The ceremony was at Anglican Parish All Saints Church in Hunters Hill, a lovely church set on very green & spacious grounds. Jessica’s entrance was amazing and I loved the look on Adrian’s face when she arrived at the front of the aisle. The ceremony went well and hats off to some good improvisation by the groomsmen to use their iphone through the microphone to cover for the missing string quartet!

We headed into the city for photos and first stop was the Rocks. It was quite windy and you can see a series of shots where Jessica’s veil got caught in the wind and blew up and over a nearby powerline! Thankfully it decided to come back down! We wandered through the Rocks and then also went to the Domain and Opera House before arriving at the RACA for the reception.

The RACA (Royal Automobile Club of Australia) is a stand out wedding venue that I highly recommend. The building itself looks amazing with stunning features from the early 1900′s, and the food & staff are first class. The rooms look amazing and there are some great spots inside for photos with a real vintage look.

The night was fantastic with some very funny speeches and I finished just after the cake cutting – it looked to good to cut! Congratulations guys! Like to share this with a friend? Simply click here. You can also become a fan of McKay Photography on Facebook!

Katrina & David – Orso – Balmoral Beach

People often ask what happens to the photos if it rains on your wedding day…. of course, there isnt a lot you can really do but Katrina & David’s wedding is a great example that rain is not a disaster.

The ceremony was held at Orso Restaurant – a great wedding venue on the Spit Road in Mosman. We went to nearby Balmoral Beach for photos and got some great shots in between light showers of rain….. and with a lot of help from groomsmen keeping us all relatively dry with umbrellas!

Congratulations guys!

Astrid & Steve – Pymble Catholic Church – Pymble Golf Club

Astrid & Steve were married towards the end of October and I had a blast photographing their wedding day! I started with Astrid’s preparations before the ceremony at the beautiful Pymble Catholic Church.

Everything went very well at the ceremony: Steve looked gob smacked when Astrid walked in, their Kiwi friend had everyone laughing, Steve’s choir sang beautifully, and we even had a decent shower of rain. After the church we left in the very cool Mustangs for location shots at the unique Rose Seilder House – a modernist designed home with some really interesting features and all well preserved by the Historic Houses Trust. I loved the outdoor mural, funky chairs, retro orange curtains, the kitchen, and the hilarious ‘you’re a tiger’ shots on the bed!

The reception was at Pymble Golf Club and we did some great shots out on the course – there’s nothing like putting everyone in golf carts to see a little craziness and mad driving! The reception was fantastic with great speeches and everyone up dancing early in the evening. Congrats guys!

Video was by Alfio from the team at Abraham Joffe, great to work with as always. You can now see the video highlights by clicking here.
