Jess & Peter had an awesome wedding day right at the end of December. The ceremony was at Clarke’s Point Reserve in Woolwich and after the ceremony and plenty of laughs – and compulsory shots – everyone boarded the Pontoon for a beautiful summer evening Harbour cruise.
Anita & Calvin had an awesome Sydney summer day for their wedding – the sky was brilliant blue and everything went perfectly from the preparations right through to an amazing reception. The ceremony was held at the Crypt at St Mary’s Cathedral and we did location photos at St Mary’s, Hyde Park and the Opera House before making our way to Doltone House Pyrmont at Jones Bay Wharf. An amazing day! Friends and family can log-in to Anita & Calvin’s gallery by clicking here. Please visit my facebook page here or my McKay Wedding Photography Sydney.
Suzanna & Tim’s beautiful wedding at the Gunners Barracks was a special one for me as I had photographed Tim’s sisters wedding a few years ago. It’s so nice seeing the same family & friends and catching up on what’s happened in the years between. The day went so well from lot of laughs during the preparations through to a beautiful ceremony in the Gunners Barracks courtyard, great location photos around the Barracks, and a fun relaxed afternoon reception with lots of dancing and some beautiful speeches. Casey & Justin’s wedding was a lot of fun – they had a ball and kept smiling the whole day even with some very wet weather and walking across Sydney city at peak hour! They were married at the RACA – a beautiful period venue right in Sydney CBD and the reception was at Water at Sebel Pier One. Lauren & Josh had an amazing wedding day – it had everything: laughs, tears of joy, close family, great speeches, and even bright sunshine AND loads of rain from two huge storm fronts, phew! The reception was at Manly Golf Club – an awesome wedding venue that I love to photograph. It always looks amazing inside and the service and food is first class. Ellie & Travers had an awesome day at the Gunners Barracks – a stunning wedding venue and with friends & family from the UK the weather showed off Sydney Harbour under perfect blue skies. A great day so congrats guys! Video for the day was by Mark at Moving Presentations – an awesome person to shoot with and always produces amazing work! An awesome wedding from earlier in the month! Megan & Chris were married at St Brigid’s Coogee and the reception was at the The Pavilion in the Botanic Gardens. There were so many great moments from the day – the highlight was Megan walking into St Brigid’s Church and I just love the look she gives her Mum that seems to say “don’t cry Mum!”. Chris couldn’t help but be gobsmacked seeing Megan walk in and as well as a few tears everyone at the wedding – especially the bridal party – shared plenty of laughs over the day. Jess & Phil had an awesome wedding day with beautiful spring weather! I started the day with Jess & the girls and we got some lovely preparation shots before meeting the boys at Observatory Hill. This ceremony location is quite spectacular with amazing views over the Harbour Bridge. We had to hurry after the ceremony to catch the setting sun but it was stunning and we had time for some night shots around the bridge before heading to Ivy for the wedding reception. Ivy is a very cool venue and the doof-doof music from the day party was impressive! The room looked fantastic and Jess & Phil had a lolly bar to die for. All in all in awesome day and so great to see so many familiar faces at the wedding! Congrats guys 🙂 Visit my facebook page here or my main website here.
Sungjin & Matt were married last week at the Taronga Centre – we did the bridal party location photos at Bradley’s Head and were treated to a stunning sunset! Here is my pick from the numerous beautiful shots full of colour as the sun set over iconic Sydney Harbour. Visit my main website here: www.mckayphotography.com.au
To finish the week here’s an extended look at Karyn & Simon’s awesome wedding from Friday – the ceremony was at St Peter Chanel in Hunters Hill and reception at the Deckhouse at Woolwich. The whole day was filled with plenty of smiles and laughs as Karyn & Simon are fantastically cool people with some beautiful friends and family – it was a such a pleasure to be capturing it all! We even had a stunning sunset to finish off the day at Clarke’s Point Reserve near the Deckhouse – there are some cracker shots 🙂 You can visit my facebook page here or my main website here.
Maigen & Tim were recently married at the Gunners Barracks and it was an awesome day! Here are some the highlights…. Visit my facebook page here or my main website here.
I’m catching up a bit of blogging and it was awesome to look back through the photos from Elli & Marcus’ wedding at Curzon Hall in April. The day was quite wet with patchy showers so as the guests arrived at Curzon Hall there was a serious threat of getting wet, and this kept everyone guessing whether we would be inside, outside, and WHEN will the string quartet arrive?! All this concern was put aside once Elli walked down the aisle to spine tingling vocals by their good friend. The ceremony was really lovely and held in a beautiful setting at the Enchanted Garden at Curzon Hall. Ellie & Marcus wrote their own vows and the celebrant Denise Fahey was really top notch! We hurried after the ceremony to do a group shot, family photos, and some bridal party shots around Curzon Hall before the light well and truly faded. Read more…
Katie and Mark had a stunning winter day for their wedding – it’s a great time of year…. as long as the rain & cold stays away. I started early in the day at Katie’s place – the view of the Harbour was amazing and the girls had loads of fun getting ready. It was an early start because the ceremony at St Bede’s in Pyrmont was at 10am. The ceremony went well and we left soon after the ceremony for some location photos at Observatory Hill and the Rocks before the lunch time reception at Wolfies in the Italian Village. It was a fantastic reception with great speeches and plenty of dancing in the evening. We had some time for sunset and night shots after the reception….and the party kept going after that as well! All in all an awesome day so congrats guys 🙂 Visit my facebook page Read more…
On such a rainy day in Sydney I thought it would be perfect to do a post of some of my favourite photos from wet weddings! As much as you might be told it’s ‘good luck’ to have rain on your wedding day I think most people would prefer a clear day and less ‘luck’! But unless it’s really torrential rain often isnt a disaster for your wedding photos. That said it pays be well prepared for rain with some wet weather photo locations organised and definitely have umbrellas on hand if the forecast isnt good (I think black looks best). If it does rain still keep smiling and of course have fun! Visit my facebook page here or my main website here.
Kate & David had an amazing wedding day! I started with the boys preps and with six groomsmen there was no shortage of laughs. Kate was getting ready nearby in Manly and it was all go with six bridesmaids, two flowers girls, and lots of fun getting ready. The ceremony was at Cerretti Chapel in Manly aka St Patrick’s College – famous for being Nicole & Keith’s wedding ceremony venue but surely Kate & David have claimed this now? With storm clouds gathering we did some location and bridal party photos on the grounds around the chapel before heading to Bradley’s Head. On the car trip there it poured down rain but when we arrive we had beautiful clear skies so the timing was perfect. The photos are Bradley’s Head after the rain were amazing and then it was on to the reception at the Taronga Centre. The room looked Read more…
Katie & Mark are getting married next month so we did an engagement / pre-wedding shoot in Centennial Park last weekend for a bit of practice in front of the camera – not that these guys need it at all! It was a lovely late Autumn day and we got some awesome shots. I’m really looking forward to the wedding 🙂 Visit my facebook page here or my main website here.
Samantha & Thibault has an awesome wedding day at Long Reef Golf Club. albeit with a little bit of rain and wind! Thibault’s friends & family made the journey all way from France so the day had a lovely mix of accents, plenty of attempts at French by all the Aussies, and even some ‘traditional’ barn dancing towards the end of the evening. The ceremony was moved inside at Long Reef given the inclement weather but we braved the wind and showering rain for some awesome photos. The combi was awesome and Long Reef at low tide offers fantastic reflections. All in all a great day and congrats Samantha & Thibault! The awesome celebrant was Sharon Austin and the beautiful flowers and room styling was by Romeo’s Chair. You can visit my facebook page here or my main website here.
