Vicki & Ben – Tea Room Gunners’ Barracks
Vicki & Ben were married at one of my favourite venues – the Tea Room at the Gunner’s Barracks. It’s a fantastic location with options to hold a ceremony on the terrace lawn or in the courtyard….or even inside on a wet day. There are some great photo locations and the views over Sydney Harbour are amazing! It was a really nice day and we got some great shots, so well done and congratulations guys!
Ansel Adams book
I found a real gem at my local book store last week – an old Ansel Adams photography book. Quite exciting as Ansel Adams is generally considered one of the best photographers of all time. His pioneering work around the 1930-50s features stunning black & white landscape images of the American south west. Here’s a link to a website with a number of photos if you want to check out his work: Ansel Adams gallery Adams used to do a lot of darkroom post-production on his shots – the historical equivalent of all the computer photo processing we do nowadays. Dodging and burning the film reproductions often helped Adams transform…
Catherine & Nathan
Catherine & Nathan were married at St Joseph’s College in early October, we did location photos around Hyde Park and the QVB, and the reception was at the QVB Tea Rooms. We got some great shots – it was very hard for me to choose just a few for this post!
Erica & Bruno – Mosman Uniting – Balmoral Bathers
Still catching up with some September weddings: this time it’s Erica and Bruno. They were married at the Mosman Uniting Church, we did photos at Balmoral and then the reception was at the Bather’s Pavillion. It was a very hot and windy day, but we kept in the shade and got some great shots. You have to check out Erica’s punt with a stray wind blown beach ball – just classic!
Canon 5D mk II
Canon recently announced an upgrade to the 5D – very exciting for all photographers and I cant wait to get one….. but I’ll have to as this is a VERY popular camera and many stores in Sydney wont have stock until early 2009, oh well. Check out some specs on the Canon website: 5D mk II Aside from some great enhancements with ISO and megapixels, a real feature of this camera is it’s ability to capture HD video as well as stills. It remains to be seen how useful this can be for weddings, or other photography, but check out this amazing video shot only on the 5D using existing…

Belinda & Jason got married in September at St Mark’s in Darling Point – a really beautiful church. These guys had so much fun and were awesome to work with! Such a great day, the reception was at the Rushcutter’s Bay Yacht Club.
