Weddings - Nicola & John - Westin Hotel - The Loft Doltone House

Nicola & John had a fantastic day with friends and family from overseas being treated to an outdoor wedding at Doltone House in Pyrmont. I have been to a number of wedding receptions here but this was my first afternoon ceremony. It looked fantastic outside with the cityscape & buildings behind….although the gaps in the wooden deck did provide the best man with some nervous moments when handing over the rings!!

I started the day with Nicola at the Westin Hotel. A side story to the day was that Nicola is probably the bravest bride I have ever met – she was ‘attacked’ by her dress (it fell off the hanger when moving it) the night before the wedding and it ripped her fingernail clean off!! OUCH is an understatement. We just made sure the bandaged hand didn’t feature too prominently in the photos!

For location photos we didnt want to take on Sydney’s peak hour traffic so we kept everything within walking distance around Doltone House and the park area at Pyrmont. Jones Bay Wharf has some great spots and we got some really nice shots of everyone. The reception in the Loft was hilarious with some cracker speeches and a sweep on how long the best man would talk for.
