Amanda & Ben – Marie Regina Church Avalon – Moby’s Whale Beach
A great location for the preparations can really add to the photos and I loved the house where Amanda was getting ready – it had a very cool beach style that suited the wedding day really well. The ceremony was at the Marie Regina Church in Avalon and I took a few shots of Ben and the cool cars before Amanda pulled up in a combi van! The ceremony had plenty of laughs and the bubbles outside the church were a big hit. After the ceremony we headed to the Palm Beach Ferry Wharf for our first location shoot, and then to another wharf nearby before arriving at Whale Beach.…
Jee & James – St Stephen’s Newtown – The Rocks – Waterview Homebush
Autumn is a lovely time of the year – the days are mild, the leaves turn golden and brown, and afternoons seem to stretch on forever. Photographically it’s a great time as well – the light tends to be softer & more colourful as the sun follows a lower path across the sky. Jee & James were married in a very old church (~1874) in Newtown called St Stephen’s. It has some amazing features and a wonderful old feel, and also a rather unqiue setting: the church is surrounded by gravestones as apparently the funds to originally build it were raised by those buried nearby. The ceremony itself was lovely,…
Felicity & Andrew – St Stephens Willoughby – The Rocks – Ottomans
Felicity & Andrew were married at St Stephen’s Church in Willougby. I also shot a wedding there last year and I can highly recommend it – it’s a lovely old church and the minister is very friendly. After the church we headed to the Rocks area and spent some time wandering around for photos with the bridal party. They were a great group and I dont think either Felicity or Andrew stopped smiling and laughing the whole time! The shots turned out really well, and it was then on to Ottomans at Walsh Bay for the reception. I really like Ottomans as a reception venue – the outdoor space is…
Nicky & Simon – Oakhill College Chapel – Centennial Park – MCA
Nicky & Simon had a scorcher of a wedding day with the temperature hitting 40 in Castle Hill! Phew. The ceremony was held at the Oakhill College Chapel and it is a very beautiful place with a colourful interior. We headed away to Centennial Park for some photos with the bridal party before a short stop at Argyle Street and then photos under the Harbour Bridge. The reception was at the MCA – the Museum of Contemporary Art right in Circular Quay. Wow! What an amazing view from the Harbour Terrace – I was blown away and it really was an exceptional place to watch the sun slowly setting on…
Sue & Yupeng
Quite a different style of post today – Sue & Yupeng did a pre-wedding shoot with us and Yupeng actually proposed to Sue during the shoot!! As such it was very exciting day for these two and a real honour for me to be a witness to it all. We started the day in the studio for hair & makeup, then a few shots before heading to Long Reef. A drive into the city saw us under the Harbour Bridge right on sunset and we also had time for night shots. Their wedding is coming up later in the year in China so congratulations to you both and best of…
Larissa & Matt – Darook Park Wedding Cronulla – Sea Level
Larissa and Matt were married at a secluded spot on the beach at Darook Park in Cronulla. It was a gorgeous sunny day and the ceremony at Darook felt like a million miles away on a deserted island! It’s such a private area you really have the whole place to yourself. Larissa and Matt clearly had a ball and we got some great photos – the shots in the last sun of the day on Cronulla Beach are awesome! The reception was at Sea Level right on the beach front in Cronulla and this venue is well worth a visit for lunch or dinner. Jess Berg did a great job…
