Liz & James – Monte Sant Angelo Chapel – Waterfront – Sydney Wedding

Liz & James’ wedding was special in so many ways – first of all Liz & James were two beautiful people who had an amazing wedding day with so many great moments….and some great photos too! Secondly it was really nice to catch up with a family I had shot a wedding for several years earlier. And lastly I was really moved by how excited everyone was on the day – especially the Mums & Dads of the groomsmen who had all grown up together so it was a really extended family group. It was de ja vu doing the preparations at Liz’s house and great to see some familiar faces amongst the family, and Jess Berg doing brilliant hair & make up as always. Liz and the girls looked amazing! The chapel at Monte San Angelo is stunning and the courtyard outside is a great place for friends & Read more…

Sarah & Jean-Marc – Ceretti Chapel St Patrick’s – Opera House – Guillaume’s at Bennelong

Hold on to your hat as this wedding is HUGE! Sarah & Jean-Marc live in the UAE so their wedding had a fabulous combination of things from all over the world mixed in with the very best of what Sydney has to offer. Mikala has been shooting a number of weddings with us and she attended the boys preparations. Jean-Marc is originally from England and his friends and family mainly from overseas so we got some shots at the apartment before heading down to Kirribilli for photos with the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. I went to Sarah’s place for her preparations and I was literally gob smacked when I saw her dress……it was amazing! It was designed and made by Jean-Marc’s mother & aunty who are couture dress makers in London (check out their website Kruszynka) and it featured an heirloom family brooch and a flower detail was made with Read more…

Tracy & Victor – Lady Macquarie’s Chair – St Mary’s Cathedral – Sydney Opera House

I am shooting Tracy & Victor’s wedding in a couple of weeks time but it’s a long way from the locations they would like to take photos so we did a formal pre-wedding shoot with them. We got some great photos from around Sydney including the Opera House, Lady Macquarie’s Chair, and the Rocks area and Observatory Hill. The day was hot but had great patches of cloud that made for some wonderful photos! Well done you guys, I look forward to being at your wedding very soon!

Gwen & Terry – Tarpeian Precinct Botanic Gardens – Opera Point Marquee

Gwen & Terry were married at the Tarpeian Precinct in the Botanic Gardens. It’s a fantastic location right next to the Opera House with views over the harbour and it has a large fig tree for shade on a hot day. The ceremony went very well – I’ve never seen a veil come off with the first kiss! The the shower of petals as they walked down the aisle looks awesome! We did a few photos with Gwen & Terry at the Botanic Gardens and then headed to Hyde Park and also the Rocks before ending up back at the Opera House and the reception at Opera Point Marquee. It’s an iconic location that simply can’t be beaten for views of the Harbour and the Bridge, and it was a lovely evening to just relax outside and take in the sights before a great night ahead. The reception was fantastic Read more…

Lauren & Matt – Cafe Sydney – Opera House

With family & friends from overseas Lauren & Matt picked a fantastic venue for their wedding ceremony & reception – Cafe Sydney. Situated on the top floor of Customs House, Cafe Sydney has stunning views overlooking Circular Quay taking in the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, and the food & service is very well known as being exceptionally high. The ceremony was held on the balcony mid-morning on a hot day so it was very bright. The lunch was lovely and the speeches set a great tone for the dancing that followed. The band was Slide McBride and these guys are amazing – they do a great range of songs from chilled out to really rocking – I highly recommend them! After the reception we took some photos at the Opera House with the bridal party where we got some great shots, especially on the steps! Congrats guys! Hair Read more…

Kate & Brendan – Anglican Parish Hunters Hill – Royal Automobile Club RACA

Kate & Brendan had a beautiful warm spring day for their wedding. The ceremony was at Anglican Parish of Hunter’s Hill – a really lovely old church located in the heart of Hunter’s Hill and surrounded by trees. I was very impressed by the unique setting of the church – it had a very English county kind of feel. The reception was at the Royal Automobile Club of Australia – aka RACA – so we headed into the city and did some location shots at Hyde Park and the Opera House…. and of course some inside the RACA itself. Check out the shot of Kate & Brendan with a giant bubble at Hyde Park, very cool! It was a great day, congratulations guys and enjoy the honeymoon! The very cool cars were from Instyle Wedding Cars. Stationery for the day from order of services through to the table settings and Read more…

Rianne & Yubin – Sydney Harbour Bridge – St Mary’s Cathedral – Mrs Macquarie’s Chair – Observatory Hill

Rianne & Yubin are getting married later in the year in China so in this pre-wedding shoot they wanted to feature some of most iconic spots around Sydney. We started at Bradley’s Head and it was blowing a gale! Still the Harbour looked beautiful and in the bright sun we got some great shots. We then headed to Kirribilli and after that St Mary’s Cathedral and a few photos at Hyde Park. We also visited Mrs Macquarie’s Chair and the Opera House towards the end of the day. We caught a beautiful sunset at Observatory Hill (in the howling wind!) before finishing with some night shots under the Harbour Bridge!

Louise & Paul – Shark Island – The Rocks – Argyle Cellars

Louise & Paul originally hail from Scotland and Wales so it’s only natural a bag piper should lead Louise’s walk down the aisle….. and then also come with them on the location photos….. and then bag pipe at Kirribilli by the Habour Bridge….. and then stand on the steps of the Opera House piping away to the surprise & delight of all the tourists in the area! It’s only natural, so I wonder if he went with them on honeymoon too?! Check out the short & shaky video clip I took with the 5D MkII at the end of the photos. The day was a lot of fun and I had a great time with Louise and Paul from the preparation shots we did at the Argyle and Quay West to the wonderful ceremony on Shark Island where the celebrant was Martin Moroney. We did location shots at the Opera Read more…

Kelly & Justin – Botanic Gardens – Doltone House

Kelly & Justin were married at one of the best positions in the Botanic Gardens – the Bennelong Lawn right above the Opera House! It was a lovely ceremony and we did some shots at the Opera House and Martin Place before heading to Doltone House in Pyrmont for the reception. Congratulations to you both! The wedding planner for the day was Amanda from Signature Wedding Planners. Amanda was really nice and the day went super smoothly!
