Kim & Sam – Sebel Pier One – Sydney Harbour

Kim & Sam had a beautiful cruise on Sydney Harbour for their wedding ceremony and reception, and with family and friends from out of town and overseas it was the perfect way to get everyone together and see Sydney at it’s best! Kim was getting ready at the Sebel Pier One and the shots we got with her veil at the window look amazing! It was then a very short walk to the Walsh Bay wharf and all aboard the Aussie Legend – a Matilda Cruises ship to get some shots of Sam before we picked up everyone else up at the Man of War Steps next to the Opera House. Sam arrived soon after and the ceremony was held in a calm area of water against the spectacular back drop of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge – just perfect! The great thing about this kind of wedding is Read more…

Courtney & Scott – Manly Golf Club

Courtney & Scott had a beautiful spring Sydney day for their wedding. I started with Courtney’s preparations at an apartment in Manly before heading to Manly Golf Club for shots with Scott and the boys. Their ceremony was on the 12th tee – a fantastic position and it looked a picture in the bright sunlight. The ceremony was conducted by Louise Robinson and she had kept things very relaxed with plenty of laughs and smiles from Courtney & Scott. We did a group shot & family photos on the 12th tee before some shots around the golf course with the bridal party. We got some great photos! The reception looked beautiful as ever – Manly Golf Club really is a wonderful wedding venue. A highlight of the night was the rhyming MC and also the best man’s speech which was a very funny & well written poem. Congratulations guys, it Read more…

Sophie & Richard – Killara Fiveways Uniting Church – Lavender Bay – Luna Park Crystal Palace Ballroom

I started Sophie & Richard’s wedding day with preparation photos at Sophie’s parent’s house in Wollenstonecraft. It was then off to Killara ‘Fiveways’ Uniting Church for photos with Richard and the guys before the ceremony started. Killara Uniting is a lovely old stone church situated on a rather unique five-way intersection. After the ceremony and family photos we headed to Lavender Bay for some location shots. It was then a short walk around to Luna Park where the reception was being held in the Crystal Palace Ballroom. A real bonus of having your reception at Luna Park is you are able to take photos inside the fun park itself and we got some hilarious shots with wild driving on the dodge-em cars, all the girls pretending to be clowns, and a lot of colour and movement on the merry-go-round. It was a really fun way to finish off this part Read more…

Kyara & Ray – Manly Golf Club

Kyara & Ray were recently married at Manly Golf Club. We did some preparation shots with Kyara at the Manly Pacific Hotel, and the make up was by Rebecca at Newell Image. Rebecca has been at quite a few weddings with me and she always does fantastic work! The day was a bit wet (what has happened to the weather in Sydney lately?!) so the ceremony was held inside at the Manly Golf Club Chapel – a really great back up option for rain. Their celebrant was Jan Littlejohn who conducted a very lovely ceremony. The rain cleared by the time we went outside for photos on the golf course. We got some great shots in a short space of time and then headed back inside for family photos in the Founders Room as the clouds rolled in again! The reception itself was fantastic with beautiful table settings and the Read more…

Ada & Aylwin – Curzon Hall – Martin Place – The Rocks

It was raining cats & dogs on the day Ada & Aylwin were married but thankfully during breaks in the showers we managed to get all the shots we wanted at each location! It just goes to show you can get great photos on a wet day if you have time to wait for the clouds to clear. The day started early with games at Ada’s parents’ house. Aylwin and the groomsmen had to sing a song, make some rather odd tasting rice & wasabi balls and undergo a thorough interrogation by the girls! There was a tea ceremony held at Ada’s house with her family and also at the reception venue Curzon Hall with Aylwin’s family. The rain meant we were inside for the ceremony itself but we had some clear weather around Curzon Hall for photos before the reception started. Curzon Hall is a perfect venue for photos Read more…

Jamie-Lee & Alex – Mona Vale Golf Club – Mona Vale Beach

Jamie-Lee & Alex had a beautiful day for their wedding at the Mona Vale Golf Club. The view from the lawn in front of the club where they held the ceremony is quite spectacular, it’s such a great spot! We then went to nearby Mona Vale Beach for some fantastic shots on the beach, around the rock pools, and caught a lovely sunset before returning to the reception. It was a really cool day, congrats guys!

Sydney Harbour Bridge & Luna Park

A quick post with two landscape photos from recent weddings – night shots of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Luna Park!

Louise & Paul – Shark Island – The Rocks – Argyle Cellars

Louise & Paul originally hail from Scotland and Wales so it’s only natural a bag piper should lead Louise’s walk down the aisle….. and then also come with them on the location photos….. and then bag pipe at Kirribilli by the Habour Bridge….. and then stand on the steps of the Opera House piping away to the surprise & delight of all the tourists in the area! It’s only natural, so I wonder if he went with them on honeymoon too?! Check out the short & shaky video clip I took with the 5D MkII at the end of the photos. The day was a lot of fun and I had a great time with Louise and Paul from the preparation shots we did at the Argyle and Quay West to the wonderful ceremony on Shark Island where the celebrant was Martin Moroney. We did location shots at the Opera Read more…

Hayley & Ben – Mary Immaculate Waverly – Sebel Pier One

Hayley & Ben had a super windy day for their wedding but at least we missed the big dust storms that hit Sydney recently! It actually made for some great shots of Hayley’s veil flying vertically, horizontally….. and all other angles in between. The ceremony was at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Waverly, a really beautiful church and the ceremony was lovely. There was plenty of laughs throughout as the little flower girl very seriously kept asking everyone to “ssshhhh”!! We left the church and headed to Hyde Park where the wind wasn’t in effect and Ben showed off his very impressive signature lifting moves (apparently he’ll lift anyone, anywhere, for any reason). We also went to Martin Place and then down to the Rocks area under the Harbour Bridge where it was blowing a howling cold gale! Needless to say we didn’t hang around for many photos so it Read more…
