Brooke & Phil – St Andrew’s Cathedral – Hyde Park – Star Room Cockle Bay
Brooke & Phil were such a great couple – full of life, fun and smiles! They were after a relaxed (and slightly crazy) style for their day and it wasnt hard to achieve with some real characters in the bridal party. I did preparations photos for both Brooke & Phil at the Medina Apartments – right across the road from the church. I really like doing the groom preparations as this part of the day is often missed and the guys were a lot of fun. The ceremony was at St Andrew’s Cathedral right next to Sydney Town Hall and it’s a simply stunning place to be married. The architecture…
Sevan & Ara – Armenian Apostolic Church Chatswood – The Establishment
February has been a wet month in Sydney and it the rain started for me at Sevan & Ara’s wedding. I did the preparations with Sevan while Sarah shot at Ara’s house and it included some very vigorous dressing by the men! They both looked fantastic – Sevan wore a Collette Dinnigan dress and Ara had a very cool suit. The ceremony was held at the Armenian Apostolic Church in Chatswood – a lovely church and the ceremony was beautiful. The rain kept on coming down so we headed straight to Martin Place for photos under cover and also made use of Tank Alley and inside the Establishment where the…
Ada & Aylwin – Curzon Hall – Martin Place – The Rocks
It was raining cats & dogs on the day Ada & Aylwin were married but thankfully during breaks in the showers we managed to get all the shots we wanted at each location! It just goes to show you can get great photos on a wet day if you have time to wait for the clouds to clear. The day started early with games at Ada’s parents’ house. Aylwin and the groomsmen had to sing a song, make some rather odd tasting rice & wasabi balls and undergo a thorough interrogation by the girls! There was a tea ceremony held at Ada’s house with her family and also at the…
Hayley & Ben – Mary Immaculate Waverly – Sebel Pier One
Hayley & Ben had a super windy day for their wedding but at least we missed the big dust storms that hit Sydney recently! It actually made for some great shots of Hayley’s veil flying vertically, horizontally….. and all other angles in between. The ceremony was at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Waverly, a really beautiful church and the ceremony was lovely. There was plenty of laughs throughout as the little flower girl very seriously kept asking everyone to “ssshhhh”!! We left the church and headed to Hyde Park where the wind wasn’t in effect and Ben showed off his very impressive signature lifting moves (apparently he’ll lift anyone, anywhere,…
Elaine & Joel – St Andrew’s Cathedral – RACA
Elaine and Joel were married on a fine winter’s day at St Andrew’s Cathedral, right next to the Town Hall in the CBD. It’s a very impressive church, simply stunning inside and out. Before hand I took some great preparation shots with Elaine, the house she was getting ready in was fantastic for photos! The ceremony at St Andrew’s was beautiful, and a song performed by a friend (who is an opera singer) was a real highlight. There was some time for afternoon tea at the cathedral and then we left for photos at Martin Place, Hyde Park and the Rocks outside the Park Hyatt right on sunset. We waited…
Kelly & Justin – Botanic Gardens – Doltone House
Kelly & Justin were married at one of the best positions in the Botanic Gardens – the Bennelong Lawn right above the Opera House! It was a lovely ceremony and we did some shots at the Opera House and Martin Place before heading to Doltone House in Pyrmont for the reception. Congratulations to you both! The wedding planner for the day was Amanda from Signature Wedding Planners. Amanda was really nice and the day went super smoothly!
Liz & Dom – St Phillips – Castlereagh Boutique Hotel
Liz & Dom’s wedding was like something out of Lord of the Rings – maybe it was the church, or maybe it was Dom’s ring… or maybe it was just because these guys were just so super excited about being married it all seemed like a wonderful fairy tale! The ceremony was at St Phillips Anglican Church which is actually Australia’s oldest church site where the first Christian service was held in 1788. It’s on York Street just as you get on/off the Harbour Bridge so right in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. The current church was built in 1856 and has very similar architecture to St Mark’s in Darling…
Tyrilly & Daniel – St Joseph’s Edgecliff – Martin Place – Stamford Double Bay
Another very hot one in Sydney as the mercury hit 42 degrees, phew! Tyrilly & Daniel were married at St Joseph’s in Edgecliff and we did location shots in Martin Place and McKell Park. The photos look amazing and it was a real pleasure to hang out with these guys for the day! The reception was at the Stamford Hotel in Double Bay, a great spot with some lovely classic feel. Also at the wedding was Edgar from Abraham Joffe Videography. I’ve worked with Edgar a couple of times and he’s always very professional and easy going. A lot of people ask me about how the videographers work in with…
