Hayley & Theo – St Andrew’s Orthodox Church Redfern – Dedes on the Wharf

Beautiful photo near the Opera House - McKay Photography

Hayley & Theo were married in July this year and contrary to what you’d expect the weather was awesome so it shows a winter wedding can be just perfect! The guys got ready in Coogee and we got some great shots of the boys getting their suits on and then some cool group shots on the rock cliffs nearby. Hayley is a dress desginer and her wedding dress was stunning! She also made the bridesmaids and flowergirl dresses which were just beautiful. The ceremony was at St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church in Redfern. It’s a beautiful church with a tall tower at the front and rich colours inside. The ceremony was lovely and as Hayley & Theo exited the church they were pelted by rice and confetti, loved it! We did bridal party photos at Observatory Hill and the Rocks area, and being winter with an early sunset we got Read more…

Sandra & Andrew – St Mary’s Orthodox Church – Doltone House Pyrmont

Sandra & Andrew were recently married and had a beautiful wedding day. Andrew and his brothers had a good laugh getting ready and there were a lot of big smiles, tears and hugs at Sandra’s house. I love the reaction of her Dad when seeing her in her wedding dress for the first time – such a beautiful moment to capture. The ceremony was at St Mary’s Orthodox Church in Mays Hill. It all went well and we headed into Sydney city for photos at Observatory Hill & around the Rocks…..we got some beautiful photos before the rain arrived. The reception was at Doltone House in Pyrmont. The room looked amazing and the cake topper figures were fantastic. It was a great night, congrats guys! Jess & Phil – Observatory Hill – Ivy Wedding

Jess & Phil had an awesome wedding day with beautiful spring weather! I started the day with Jess & the girls and we got some lovely preparation shots before meeting the boys at Observatory Hill. This ceremony location is quite spectacular with amazing views over the Harbour Bridge. We had to hurry after the ceremony to catch the setting sun but it was stunning and we had time for some night shots around the bridge before heading to Ivy for the wedding reception. Ivy is a very cool venue and the doof-doof music from the day party was impressive! The room looked fantastic and Jess & Phil had a lolly bar to die for. All in all in awesome day and so great to see so many familiar faces at the wedding! Congrats guys 🙂 Visit my facebook page here or my main website here.

Katie & Mark – St Bedes Pyrmont – Observatory Hill – Wolfies Italian Village

Katie and Mark had a stunning winter day for their wedding – it’s a great time of year…. as long as the rain & cold stays away. I started early in the day at Katie’s place – the view of the Harbour was amazing and the girls had loads of fun getting ready. It was an early start because the ceremony at St Bede’s in Pyrmont was at 10am. The ceremony went well and we left soon after the ceremony for some location photos at Observatory Hill and the Rocks before the lunch time reception at Wolfies in the Italian Village. It was a fantastic reception with great speeches and plenty of dancing in the evening. We had some time for sunset and night shots after the reception….and the party kept going after that as well! All in all an awesome day so congrats guys 🙂 Visit my facebook page Read more…

Carmen & Joseph – Our Lady of Fatima – Sydney University – Fish Markets

Joseph started the day with a variety of crazy challenges – there were some classic moments and plenty of laughs on his intrepid path to find Carmen! A good thing he chose the correct door or we all would have had to go home. A beautiful tea ceremony – I love all the details and colour – with parents at both houses followed before the church ceremony at Our Lady of Fatima in Kingsgrove. Heading into the city we took photos at quite a number of locations from Hyde Park, St Mary’s Cathedral, Observatory Hill, and Sydney University. The rain started coming down quite heavily at Observatory Hill so we scrambled for cover and the quad area at Sydney Uni is a wonderful place to shoot – and perfect shelter when the rain kept pouring down! After that it was off to the Fisherman’s Wharf at the Fish Markets – Read more…

Tracy & Victor – Lady Macquarie’s Chair – St Mary’s Cathedral – Sydney Opera House

I am shooting Tracy & Victor’s wedding in a couple of weeks time but it’s a long way from the locations they would like to take photos so we did a formal pre-wedding shoot with them. We got some great photos from around Sydney including the Opera House, Lady Macquarie’s Chair, and the Rocks area and Observatory Hill. The day was hot but had great patches of cloud that made for some wonderful photos! Well done you guys, I look forward to being at your wedding very soon!

Marlia & Mark – Garrison Church – The Rocks – Bel Mondo

It’s been a very busy couple of months! As such we’re a bit behind on the blog so here goes…… Marlia & Mark were married at the Garrison Church in the Rocks. It was my first wedding at this church and I really enjoyed being right in the heart of the Rocks area! The church itself is stunning and there are plenty of great photo locations in the Rocks all within walking distance. I started at Marlia’s house for her preparation shots and Kirstine was a second shooter for the day who went to Mark’s house for his preps. The ceremony at the Garrison was lovely with Rev. Howard running things really well.  There was time for mingling outside the church and then we then headed away with the bridal party for location shots. Most spots were within easy walking distance but we also used the cars if it was Read more…

Rianne & Yubin – Sydney Harbour Bridge – St Mary’s Cathedral – Mrs Macquarie’s Chair – Observatory Hill

Rianne & Yubin are getting married later in the year in China so in this pre-wedding shoot they wanted to feature some of most iconic spots around Sydney. We started at Bradley’s Head and it was blowing a gale! Still the Harbour looked beautiful and in the bright sun we got some great shots. We then headed to Kirribilli and after that St Mary’s Cathedral and a few photos at Hyde Park. We also visited Mrs Macquarie’s Chair and the Opera House towards the end of the day. We caught a beautiful sunset at Observatory Hill (in the howling wind!) before finishing with some night shots under the Harbour Bridge!
