Megan & Chris – St Brigid’s Coogee – Pavilion Botanic Gardens
An awesome wedding from earlier in the month! Megan & Chris were married at St Brigid’s Coogee and the reception was at the The Pavilion in the Botanic Gardens. There were so many great moments from the day – the highlight was Megan walking into St Brigid’s Church and I just love the look she gives her Mum that seems to say “don’t cry Mum!”. Chris couldn’t help but be gobsmacked seeing Megan walk in and as well as a few tears everyone at the wedding – especially the bridal party – shared plenty of laughs over the day. Friends and family can log-in here to see a lot more…

Jess & Phil – Observatory Hill – Ivy Wedding
Jess & Phil had an awesome wedding day with beautiful spring weather! I started the day with Jess & the girls and we got some lovely preparation shots before meeting the boys at Observatory Hill. This ceremony location is quite spectacular with amazing views over the Harbour Bridge. We had to hurry after the ceremony to catch the setting sun but it was stunning and we had time for some night shots around the bridge before heading to Ivy for the wedding reception. Ivy is a very cool venue and the doof-doof music from the day party was impressive! The room looked fantastic and Jess & Phil had a lolly…
Bradley’s Head – Stunning Sunset
Sungjin & Matt were married last week at the Taronga Centre – we did the bridal party location photos at Bradley’s Head and were treated to a stunning sunset! Here is my pick from the numerous beautiful shots full of colour as the sun set over iconic Sydney Harbour. Visit my main website here: www.mckayphotography.com.au
Kim & Jarrod – Gibraltar Hotel wedding
Kim & Jarrod were married at one of our favourite local venues – Gibraltar Hotel. It’s an awesome location with great accommodation, plenty of spots for a ceremony (including the indoor gallery room for wet weather) and beautiful photo locations around the golf course. Kim & Jarrod both got ready at the hotel and the ceremony was held on the golf course. It was a beautiful spring day so just picture perfect. We did photos around the golf course and had a fun time driving from each location on the golf carts. The reception was a lot of fun with some great speeches and plenty of dancing. Congrats guys! Visit…
Karyn & Simon – St Peter Chanel Hunters Hill – Deckhouse Woolwich
To finish the week here’s an extended look at Karyn & Simon’s awesome wedding from Friday – the ceremony was at St Peter Chanel in Hunters Hill and reception at the Deckhouse at Woolwich. The whole day was filled with plenty of smiles and laughs as Karyn & Simon are fantastically cool people with some beautiful friends and family – it was a such a pleasure to be capturing it all! We even had a stunning sunset to finish off the day at Clarke’s Point Reserve near the Deckhouse – there are some cracker shots 🙂 You can visit my facebook page here or my main website here.
Hayley & Theo – St Andrew’s Orthodox Church Redfern – Dedes on the Wharf
Hayley & Theo were married in July this year and contrary to what you’d expect the weather was awesome so it shows a winter wedding can be just perfect! The guys got ready in Coogee and we got some great shots of the boys getting their suits on and then some cool group shots on the rock cliffs nearby. Hayley is a dress desginer and her wedding dress was stunning! She also made the bridesmaids and flowergirl dresses which were just beautiful. The ceremony was at St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church in Redfern. It’s a beautiful church with a tall tower at the front and rich colours inside. The ceremony…
Maigen & Tim – Gunners Barracks
Maigen & Tim were recently married at the Gunners Barracks and it was an awesome day! Here are some the highlights…. Visit my facebook page here or my main website here.
Elli & Marcus – Curzon Hall
I’m catching up a bit of blogging and it was awesome to look back through the photos from Elli & Marcus’ wedding at Curzon Hall in April. The day was quite wet with patchy showers so as the guests arrived at Curzon Hall there was a serious threat of getting wet, and this kept everyone guessing whether we would be inside, outside, and WHEN will the string quartet arrive?! All this concern was put aside once Elli walked down the aisle to spine tingling vocals by their good friend. The ceremony was really lovely and held in a beautiful setting at the Enchanted Garden at Curzon Hall. Ellie & Marcus…
Katie & Mark – St Bedes Pyrmont – Observatory Hill – Wolfies Italian Village
Katie and Mark had a stunning winter day for their wedding – it’s a great time of year…. as long as the rain & cold stays away. I started early in the day at Katie’s place – the view of the Harbour was amazing and the girls had loads of fun getting ready. It was an early start because the ceremony at St Bede’s in Pyrmont was at 10am. The ceremony went well and we left soon after the ceremony for some location photos at Observatory Hill and the Rocks before the lunch time reception at Wolfies in the Italian Village. It was a fantastic reception with great speeches and…
Wet Weather Weddings
On such a rainy day in Sydney I thought it would be perfect to do a post of some of my favourite photos from wet weddings! As much as you might be told it’s ‘good luck’ to have rain on your wedding day I think most people would prefer a clear day and less ‘luck’! But unless it’s really torrential rain often isnt a disaster for your wedding photos. That said it pays be well prepared for rain with some wet weather photo locations organised and definitely have umbrellas on hand if the forecast isnt good (I think black looks best). If it does rain still keep smiling and of…
Kate & David – Cerretti Chapel Manly – Taronga Centre
Kate & David had an amazing wedding day! I started with the boys preps and with six groomsmen there was no shortage of laughs. Kate was getting ready nearby in Manly and it was all go with six bridesmaids, two flowers girls, and lots of fun getting ready. The ceremony was at Cerretti Chapel in Manly aka St Patrick’s College – famous for being Nicole & Keith’s wedding ceremony venue but surely Kate & David have claimed this now? With storm clouds gathering we did some location and bridal party photos on the grounds around the chapel before heading to Bradley’s Head. On the car trip there it poured down…
Samantha & Thibault – Long Reef Golf Club
Samantha & Thibault has an awesome wedding day at Long Reef Golf Club. albeit with a little bit of rain and wind! Thibault’s friends & family made the journey all way from France so the day had a lovely mix of accents, plenty of attempts at French by all the Aussies, and even some ‘traditional’ barn dancing towards the end of the evening. The ceremony was moved inside at Long Reef given the inclement weather but we braved the wind and showering rain for some awesome photos. The combi was awesome and Long Reef at low tide offers fantastic reflections. All in all a great day and congrats Samantha &…

Katrina & Wade – Dunbar House Wedding Watson’s Bay
Katrina & Wade’s wedding day was very wet but as you can see from the photos it didnt dampen their spirits or prevent us from getting some beautiful wedding photos. They both got ready at Watson’s Bay Hotel and we watched as the storm clouds came rolling in. The ceremony was planned for under the large fig tree outside Dunbar House but we went with the wet weather plan of inside upstairs near the main bar. Thankfully the rain eased when we went outside for photos and after some shots around Dunbar House itself we headed to nearby Camp Cove. Dunbar House looks quite beautiful after the refurbishment yet has…
Margaret & Jared – Centennial Park – RACA
Margaret & Jared had a beautiful (but hot) January day for their wedding. Jared is in the armed forces so the wedding had some awesome military uniforms. Margaret’s dress was stunning and the ceremony was held at St Mary’s Anglican Church in Waverly with the highlight being a guard of honour when Margaret & Jared exited the church. We did the bridal party photos at Centennial Park in the pine grove and got some really lovely photos before heading to the RACA (Royal Automobile Club of Australia). The RACA is one of my favourite venues with such beautiful period architecture. Congrats guys! Visit my facebook page here or for…
Jess & Ben – Darook Park wedding – Summer Salt Cronulla
Darook Park was the ceremony location for Jess & Ben’s beautiful wedding. It was a stunning day with blue skies and Darook Park is such a lovely spot with views over the water and a nice secluded feel. Jess made a fantastic entrance – I just love seeing this kind of excitement on peoples faces as it really shows how special the wedding day is. We did some location shots at Darook Park and then also a nearby beach and at the northern end of Cronulla Beach in the sand dunes. The wedding reception was at Summer Salt Cronulla. It’s an awesome spot right on the beach and the food…
